Invoicing Clients and Tracking Payments
Digiiworks Legal handles VAT-compliant invoicing, payment tracking, and overdue reminders — so you can focus on legal work instead of admin.
Creating Invoices
- Navigate to Billing → Invoices and click New Invoice.
- Select the matter and client. Billable time entries (see Time Tracking and Billable Hours) are automatically pulled in.
- Review line items, adjust descriptions or amounts if needed, and set payment terms.
- Click Send — the client receives a professional, firm-branded invoice via email.
VAT Compliance
- All invoices include 15% VAT calculated automatically.
- Your firm's VAT number (configured in Settings → Firm Profile) appears on every invoice.
- VAT breakdowns are itemised per line for transparency.
Payment Tracking
- Mark as paid — When payment is received, mark the invoice as paid. The date is recorded automatically.
- Bank verification — For Practice tier and above, payments can be verified against your bank feed via Stitch (stitch.money) integration. Connect it under Settings → Integrations.
- Overdue reminders — Automated email reminders are sent at 7, 14, and 30 days past due.
Monthly Invoice Generation
Practice and Intelligence tier firms can enable auto-invoicing:
- At month-end, invoices are generated automatically from tracked time entries.
- Review and approve before they're sent to clients.
- This saves hours of manual billing each month.
Reporting
View billing summaries under Analytics → Revenue (Intelligence tier — see Understanding Your Analytics Dashboard):
- Total billed vs. collected
- Outstanding amounts by client
- Revenue by matter type
- Average days to payment
